A multi-faceted collaborative project with researchers who study different aspects of young children’s development in non-Western rural samples, and include observational data of caregiver-child interactions that were coded for sensitive parenting.
The study was funded by an ERC-Consolidator grant awarded to Judi Mesman. PhD students Antoinette Kroes, Tessa van den Rozenberg, Laura Doornkamp, Astrid Jehle and Stefanie Esveld, co-supervised by Marleen Groeneveld and Lotte van der Pol. PhD student Laura Doornkamp was also co-supervised by Sandra Groeneveld.

How do prejudices and racism develop in children
Social resilience is often presented as a panacea for problems from inequality to polarisation. But what is social resilience and how do you build a resilient society? Over five years, the research project will examine social interventions that seek to create social resilience in eight Dutch cities. Funded by an NWA grant awarded to Anouk de Koning and co-applicants Femke Kaulingfreks and Maartje van der Woude. PhD student within the subproject Professional politics of Social work: Sharifa Redan, co-supervised by Femke Kaulingfreks and Willem Boterman.
